About Me

I have always had a passion for photography. I started my business in the Spring of 2005 and have never looked back. Not many can say that they whole heartedly LOVE their job.

I CAN!

No stuffy photographer here - I am outgoing, spontaneous and a kid at heart. I try and make each and every session I do a fun, relaxing, and memorable experience.  There are many ways to describe my style.  Contemporary, Lifestyle, Photo Journalistc, Modern, Fun, Funky, Fresh...my motto sums it all up.  I Capure Life...as it Happens!

NKP’s Facebook “FANS” mini-session contest winner

This morning I announced my NKP’s Facebook “FANS” mini-session winner!

Congratulations to Mrs. Kristie Heustess.  I hope to talk to you soon to discuss the details!!

I’m baaaaack…and with a new look!

New logo, new colors, new (but same ‘ole) me!!  I’m happy to say that after a few months hiatus, I think I’m finally ready to begin full swing again!  Over the winter I looked deep inside and decided that I would really love to specialize in child photography!!  This does not mean that I won’t still dabble in other areas of photography…so for those who have worked with me before, have no fear :) .  I’m still in the process of updating my website and blog – so please bear with me.  Ready for some warm, dry weather….and I hope to soon have some new 2010 images to share with everyone!

Time to “Regroup and Reorganize”!!

Sometimes we just have to stop, breath and regroup.  This summer went by so very fast and I overwhelmed myself with work!  Currently, I am working so very hard to get caught up.  Since there is only little ‘ole me – and so many “mini-jobs” within my job – I think sometimes I should hire someone to help me.  However, I LOVE every aspect of what I do.  I am a VERY picky person and prefer to do things my way, lol.  I am not happy that it has been taking me longer than usual to:  post sneak peeks, get galleries up, get invoices out, get orders placed, get orders mailed, file paperwork, etc.  I just bit off more than I could chew so to speak…and it has caused a case of the burn outs!

I have made the decision to slow down, regroup and reorganize.  I don’t want to forget WHY I love photography.  I don’t want it to become just another job.  I want to continue to provide my absolute best to ALL of my clients!  At the moment, I feel as though I’m fall behind on all of it.  I will only be scheduling a handful of session for the remainder of 2009.  I am going to take the time to finish up my current client sessions, get all galleries up, get all invoices out and all orders placed.  Once I have caught up – I’m going to take the time to allow myself to enjoy the art that I have come to call a job.  I will be sharing this with you…here on my blog.  I do hope that you will continue to come and see what I have to offer.  I will again start full force in 2010 – but will hold to my comitment to only do what I am humanly able.  It’s only fair to you and myself!

Again, I am so thankful to all of my clients, friends and family for their patience!

Shooting between the rain bands….

Monday I met with the beautiful Miss M.  She traveled 3.5 hours just for her photoshoot – and the rain was NOT going to stop us from getting her session done!  We started off at the beautiful Market Commons.  We hid under awnings then ran and shot when it would stop, lol.  I had to keep wiping the rain drops from my lens (which normally would have freaked me out…but I was determined to get her pictures for her).  After the commons we headed to the state park for some beach shots.  A little harder to hide from the rain there…the pier worked fairly well though.  We ended with a ‘trash the dress’ senior style.  Her boyfriend took it to another level when he tackled her and they both went under water, ha ha!  I had a ton of fun despite the weather and love what we were able to capture.  Hope you do too!

A party in the back yard!

Last Friday I met with 2yo little miss C. for a party in her backyard!  As a photographer “back yard” can be a scary thing, lol.  Let me tell you…I got WAY excited when I got there.  So much cool stuff, bright colors, a tea party with all her little friends, a sand box, a club house…and some of the coolest/cutest kid furniture ever!  Miss C. I do believe had a lot of fun…running around with the paprazzi (me) following her around.  You guys outdid yourselves decorating and preparing for her photo session!  I do hope that you love what we were able to capture!

Happy Birthday to me!!!

Well, today I celebrate a birthday – Happy Birthday to me!  I made a trip to Lowes and am currently painting my livingroom/dining room (yup, that’s my present to myself, lol).  I was tired of the drab eggshell walls – they are now a very vibrant burgundy (actually it’s called “Summer Pudding” by Laura Ashley signature colors).  I’ve only done the dining area so far and I’m so excited at how much I love it!  I debated whether or not I should do different colors in the rooms – however, they run right into each other – so decided to keep it looking big and open I would paint both.  Lot’s more to go!

I will get back to business tomorrow – took a break from “work” since it was my day…so those of you waiting on galleries, it won’t be long now!  I also have a few invoices that will be going out tomorrow – so check your e-mail!

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Sweet baby T….

This was a bitter sweet session for me as it was little miss T’s final Stork Club Session.  Yup, that’s right – she’s already 12 months old!!  We met at the Riverwalk in Conway for some new scenery.  I LOVE this location – especially in the fall.  The colors and backdrops are just amazing!  Of course, it wouldn’t matter where we had shot – because T is so dern cute – she’d make anywhere look good!  She makes me giggle because she doesn’t like to “get dirty”.  Grass – eugh.  Dirt – eugh.  Sand – eugh.  Mulch – eugh.  HA HA!!  On a positive note:  when we would put her in the grass barefoot, she wouldn’t run away, lol.  Mom brought her some seriously cute clothing including a tutu and cheerleading outfit.  She also brought her best friend “George” the monkey.  I have to say the black and white image of her with him I find very powerful.  Sweetest look on her face and pointing at him – as if to say “This, this is my friend”!  I know, I can be sappy sometimes, lol.  A, I had so much fun ’shooting’ little T.  I do hope that you guys will keep in touch – and that just because this is the end of the Stork Club for us – that it won’t be the end of our relationship!

The K family

What a beautiful family!  We were dodging rain  -  which seems to be the norm around here lately.  I met with them in front of their hotel on the north end of the beach.  I was a little worried as I’m not used to shooting with hotels in the background and a lot of people on the beach.   We managed to get some great shots despite all that!!  Their boys were so dern cute – and my favorite part of the session was the very end when they broke out the kite.  How fun!!  I’m glad that we got the session in just before the rains came :)

MIA….and the R family!

Wow – have I been MIA or what?!  I do apologize for falling off the face of the earth, lol.  I have been up to my eyeballs in work – which is a good thing, right?!!  I took on a new direction with my photography and the response has been overwhelming.  If it keeps up – I’m going to have to hire an assistant, as I can’t possibly do everything by myself.  As it is, I work on about 3-5 hours of sleep per night.  It didn’t seem to be much of a problem over the summer because I could sleep in a bit.  However, with the kids now back in school – waking up at 7am after going to bed at 3am isn’t all that easy!!

I would like to thank the R. family for their patience.  They have been waiting on their “sneak peeks” – and I’m happy to say….HERE they are!!!  I, as always, had a great time photographing you guys.  My favorite thing about repeat clients is that I get to watch the kids grow up.  I find it amazing how much they can change in just a years time.  Another favorite thing is building a friendship with my client – most feel like a part of my family…and it is an awesome feeling!  Again, thank you guys for your patience….I put a few extra here to make up for the wait, ha ha!

Getting SO BIG!!

Yesterday I met up with one of my stork club babies for her final session.  Poor thing, it was supposed to be for her 12 months…and she is now almost 20 months!  Between the weather, my schedule and her mommy’s schedule we just could never get together.  Well, I hope that these images make it all worth the wait!!  I can’t believe how much she has changed since the last time I saw her.  She’s now running and exploring!  Her big brother was one of my stork club babies too.  I’ve been photographing him since he was in his mommy’s tummy…and now he is almost FOUR!  Time sure does fly!  I had a great time capturing these two (had to get a couple of Big Brother B too).
